Nduka Ahanonu

Principal Lawyer

Nduka Ahanonu

Duke is a well-experienced lawyer who has practiced law across two jurisdictions since becoming a lawyer in 1999. Clients warm up to Duke easily because of his warm and outgoing personality. It does not take long for clients to know that they have a strong and committed advocate on their side because Duke cares for his clients and he goes the extra mile in addressing their needs. While working as an associate in a law firm in Nigeria, Duke practiced extensively in corporate/commercial law and civil litigation. Duke founded DUKE & COMPANY after his admission to the bar in Alberta in 2010 and the firm has grown tremendously in a short span because of the firm’s commitment to client-centered services. As part of his education, Duke completed an LLM (Master of Laws) program at the University of Alberta, focusing his research on the use of mediation and other non-adversarial methods for resolving disputes. He followed that up with different certificates and training in negotiations and mediation. His clients benefit immensely from Duke’s negotiation and conflict resolution skills, which he uses to get the clients results when the circumstances are right. Duke is also a relentless and passionate advocate for his clients and he is not afraid to take a client’s case to court if the circumstances require that the matter be taken to court. In dealing with highly complex cases, his clients find him a dependable support and guide. He derives a lot of joy in the words of gratitude he gets from clients who are often amazed by his commitment and professionalism. Duke is actively involved in the community and gives back to the community through different avenues, including volunteering his time through charitable organizations such as Rotary Club and the church.
