Old Start your process

Legal proceedings don't have to be complicated.

Are you in need of an experienced, knowledgeable lawyer (Or team) to assist with your legal proceedings. Whether you require a family lawyer, an immigration lawyer, a civil litigation lawyer or purely a legal professional to assist with your real estate purchase or creation of a will – Duke Law is here to bring gravity to your legal troubles, no matter how big or small they may be.

You may be asking before getting started however, what is the legal process involved for my particular case? How many hours do I require a lawyer for? Or, how does a lawyer actually help with my legal needs? All of these are incredible questions, which is why we’ve created this page to give you a rundown of how our law firm undertakes a case.

Step 1) Initial consultation: Understanding your legal needs

The first and most important step of any legal proceeding is to understand the face value aspects of your case. Do you require a family lawyer to assist with a contested divorce or a real estate lawyer to guide you through the purchase of a new home? These two cases vary widely not just in terms of length but also in terms of price which is why it’s absolutely essential to undergo this initial consultation phase so that you understand how we can help you.

Step 2) Litigation

Once we’ve determined if Duke Law firm can help with your needs and have pinpointed your specific area of law, a member of our team will begin the litigation process.

Family Law, Immigration Law or Civil Litigation

At this stage, our team will work with you to compile the correct paperwork as well as execute specific legal actions on your behalf to guarantee as much time as possible before trial.

Wills & Estates or Real Estate law

With these areas of law not requiring a trial, these services involve just a sit down and/or email and phone correspondence between the lawyer and client. Particularly with wills, due to the potential complexity, it may require a lot of conversation. A real estate lawyer on the other hand will only require purchasing or selling contracts and the client’s intended asks to be added to the offer. Besides these requirements, our lawyer will communicate with you about where the process is and when you are needed to fulfill a legal obligation such as signing documents.

Step 3) The trial

Finally, upon all pre-litigation being compiled – a trial will eventually be set where our team will represent you and battle on your behalf for your victory. Unless previously discussed, our lawyer will undertake the entirety of the legal proceedings in the courtroom unless we feel it is advantageous for you to take part. In most cases, all you have to do is show up and our team will do the rest.
